Ramon88
Any new twists or turn in the Retirement situation? I have a one-year extension which I intend/hope to renew in early August. My extension is based on income - for which I will provide the standard letter from the embassy. Will bring bank book, verification that funds transferred were from overseas, letter from bank (assuming that is needed) What else do I need to provide? Do I need to bring the letter about my lease again? Or . . . I understand I do NOT need a physical/medical exam again. I am not completely sure what I need to do this second time around. Also, not sure if anything has changed since last year. Any help appreciated. Thank you! Ramon. Edited July 2, 2008 by Ramon88

Last time i was in for 90 day reporting, I asked what i needed and they said: "just proof of the 800k baht in the bank for at least 90 days" I assume that means a letter from the bank 90 days before AND your bank book showing the money still there??? Good luck. (They don't seem to be concerned about anything else, but then, i haven't done it yet, only asked questions)
stuandchris
I just got mine this week, no problem at all, in and out 30 mins. To be on the safe side I took everything, photocopies of passport pages, house book, pictures, the lot, they seemed to like the fact I dumped a pile of papers on the desk, they looked at some, didn't look at others and after a bit of banter about no money go home with lots of smiling and laughing they were happy. There is a tall slim guy at immigration, he sits on the far set of tables on the extreme right hand side, very helpful and good english. Good luck when you go. I also took a Thai friend which was very helpful.

I was sweating a bit cuz my money had not been in the bank for 3 months ( I use part pension part income) but they never even looked to see how long the funds had been there. All very helpful and kind. Some banter but was in and out in 25 mins. By the way you can get your income validated in Phuket by the Consul here. You dont have to go to embassy for letter if you are a UK citizen. Best of luck
