I am interested if the money needs to be in a Thai bank, or can the bank be in the UK ?. Also is there any rules what currency they will accept ?.

I would assume like all other Visa Bank Balance requirements, it must be in a Thai Bank and if in a foriegn currency, a Bank letter indicating Thai Baht equivalent balance indicated

Dave (no expert BTW)

As far as I know, its not an actual requirement at KL like it was at Singapore. I got a visa there last month showing Thai bank statements, but I seem to recall someone not so long ago getting the visa with no finance related documentation.

I wouldn't assume that as you don't have 400K in a Thai bank you won't get the visa - (unless Lopburi3 knows otherwise) - its probably worth it to have a go.

Cheers
