Afriend in the Uk, owns a condo here in Thailand and he has asked if I can find out ,should he sell the condo how easy would it be to transfer the money he made on the sale , back to the UK...? and would there be any form of tax he would have to pay...? any information or advice would be welcome... Thanks.

they generally do not allow the transfer of more than $5000 US with out filing a 'Tor Tor' of some sort with the Bank of Thailand.  Easier to take it out in Chunks of $5000, if they'll even allow that.

Have a friend - Finish- who took $USD 10k to Thailand, had his wife - Thai - open anaccount, deposit the money, then transfer it 2 days later. She had some questions to answer - bank were worried about money laundering (drugs etc), but went through OK in the end. It was via BKK Bank - a main branch in BKK. Think a steady series of 5k transfers from Thai to foreign account would not raise too many eyebrows.

Another option is to buy Travellers Cheques, USD 5,000 or even 10,000 USD is no problems. Just say that you are travelling ...
