Internet Banking

Featured Replies

Hello everybody.

My wife and myself leave in Europe and I need to have a bank account in Thailand which i can use being abroad to make some money transfer to local accounts.

Can i do it from abroad or do I have to wait for my next travel to LOS?

Second question: looking at the internet banking facilities, what bank would you advice me?

Thank you for your help.

Jahil

I highly doubt you could open a Thai bank account outside of Thailand unless they have some branch or representative who can do it for you outside the country.

I would recommend Kasikorn Bank.

On-line is secure, webpage easy to use and telephone help is prompt and efficient with excellent English skills.

Transfers to other Thai accounts are easy and can be done using a 2nd PIN number which you set up.

BUT, you must be in Thailand to open an account - you must show your passport.

Johny beat me to it.

As an ex banker in the UK (non merchant), I would recommend Kasikorn, but you need to be here.

I would also recommend Kasikorn Bank for excellent online banking facilities. Siam Commercial Bank is also another good choice. You do need to be in Thailand to open an account.

If you're already a HSBC customer you can have them prepare everything in your home country and just need to sign when you come here next time.

But HSBC Thailand really sucks and even if you have all your other bank accounts with HSBC I'd advise against using them in Thailand.
