OK I HAVE SEVERAL QUESTIONS. THANKS FOR UR HELP

I HAV A DOUBLE TOURIST VISA FROM LOAS. IT SAYS "ENTER BEFORE 23 JULY 2008" AT THIS POINT I CAN GO TO JOMTIEN AND GET MY LAST EXTENSION (30). I WAS GOING TO GO ON THE 15TH (TOMOROW) BCUZ ITS CONVENIENT AND LATER IN THE WEEK, THERE IS A HOLIDAY. MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1) WILL THE EXTENTION (IF GRANTED) BE CALCULATED FROM THE EXPIRY DATE OR FROM WHEN I FILL OUT THE FORM? (WANT TO BE SAFE, BUT DONT WANT TO LOOSE PRECIOUS DAYS).

2) AFTER THIS EXTENTION, AM I ELIGIBLE FOR 3 VISA RUNS TO CAMBODIA, OR DO I HAVE TO DO SOMETHING ELSE, LIKE GO BACK TO LAOS? OR IS THERE SOME CALCULATION I HAVE TO DO. MY THIRD VISA RUN ALLOWANCE ENDED ON MARCH 24TH, THAT WAS THE DAY I ENTERED LAOS TO BEGIN MY 2X TOURIST VISA. I HOPE I HAV EXPLAINED CLEARLY.

SO I AM IN NEED OF SOME CLARIFICATION. AND I HEAR THERE IS A HOLIDAY ON FRIDAY, 18TH? IS IMMIGRATION OPEN ON THURSDAY 17TH?

THANKS AGAIN!

Extension is counted form the leave before date stamp in your passport, not from the date you applied for the extension.

Regarding your 90 days in 6 months, you need to calculate the period from the first date you arrived, then add 6 monhts, if that period ends after the date you intend of doing your visa run, then yes, you could stay 90 days again on exempt stamps.

JST,

Have you used both entries yet? Normally Tourist Visa from Laos are good for only 90 days, even the double entry ones. Also what is the end date on your entry stamp? Better advice available with more information. Also please do not post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, it is considered not polite.

ok. prior to the tourist visa i obtained which began on mar 24, '08, i did 3 visa runs. so the the first date that i entered (the entry date of the first visa run) was jan 2, '08. so 6 months later would be @ july 2-5, '08 or so. now that date has passed. so what does that mean? i can go to jomtien for a 30 day extension (w/o leaving the country). then after that im i free to hit the border in cambodia 3xs?

JST,

I am still not clear about your visa status and I am concerned you may have made a miscalculation. You say you obtained your double entry tourist visa on Mar24. This would have allowed you to enter and stay in Thailand until about May 22. At that point you would have had to leave Thailand and return or go to immigration and recieve your first extension. If you used the extension route then you would have had to leave Thailand around Jun 21. If it was a one day turn around then you used your second entry in late June and it would be valid until late August and with an extension on the end of that you would be good until late September. The numbers you site do not add up.

1) If you recieved a 2 entry TV in Laos on Mar 24 it would normally be valid for 90 days(Enter before date on full page visa sticker) which would be June and not July. I have never heard of a tourist visa valid for 4 months.

2) What was the date you last left Thailand and what is the leave before date on your entry stamp.

It is possible you have mixed up some dates here. Look at the actual stamps in your passport to be sure. I had a friend make an error like this and ended uo with a 25 day overstay.

It probably stated enter before June 23, not july 23, and I hope for the OP's sake that he is on his second entry already. This makes sense, as he would have entered Thailand around march 24, allowed to stay until may 22, and then did another visa run, which would take him through to july 20th give or take a few days.

yes that is exactly rite. sorry, my enter befor date was June 23, 2008. here is the total picture with the correct dates.from loas, i enterd thailand on march 25. got stamped in, good till may 23. at the end of that first visa, i did a visa run to cambodia on may 22 (i opted out of the 1st jomtien extension) so this started my second entry permit. so then i had from may 22 through july 20, 2008.

so now i am going to immigration on the 15th, to get the 30 day extension (which u say will extend from july 20, rite?)

now i must figure out what i can do after this extension. i guess i could ask at immigration :o .thanks for all ur help!
