Currnetly I am holding a Non-Imm "B" VISA expire end of Aug 2008. I resigned and I enrolled in an University in Bangkok already. I would like to run my VISA with my student VISA. Now I would like to know, is it possible to change Non-Imm "B" to Non-Imm "ED" in Thailand?

I am doing MBA, definitely I have to run yearly basis. Now the University can provide neccessary docs to extend 1 year for. Would you pls advise at immigration office where should I contact?

You get the documents, TM.7, 1,900 baht and current 4x6cm photo and make application at your local immigration office for one year extension of stay. If doing in Bangkok you present your papers to information desk at Suan Phlu (tell them what you want) and they provide queue numbers and advise you where to go.

No you apply for an extension of permission to stay based on education under National Police Order 606/2549 section 7.7 or 7.8

You can do this if you have an existing non immigrant B visa - the Visa Category is irrelevant.

7.8 In the case of Study in a Private Education Institute - Permitted to stay for not more than 1 year per request.

Criertia:

(1) The foreigner must obtain permit stamp for the temporary entry and

(2) That education institute must obtain an educational permit from related government sector and

(3) Must be certified and request from that Education institute and

(4) Must be certified by a related government sector (exempted in the case of studying in an international school and undergraduate level)

Required Documents

1. Petition Forms

2. Copy of Passport of the Applicant

3. Copy of the Institute's educational license issued from related government sector.

4. Certify letter requesting for continuous of study from that education institute illustrating the course details and its duration and transcript

5. Must be certified by a related government sector or by the Provincial Mayor which is responsible for that education institute (exempted in the case of studying in an international school and undergraduate level).
