Anyways not shocked by this as it's common for the bib to do this prior to holidays (and other times) due to a few reasons. A) They want to show that they are doing their most before a religeous holiday (merit making bib style) and it sends a message to entertainment establishments that if they wanna open and sell booze during the religous holiday, they need to pay up.

July 16, 200817 yr cant you guys go a few days wo nana or soi cowboy! Anyways, don't sweat it too much. Afterall, on Mondays in Bangkok, all the Thais have to go without their lovely street food during the day - I actually like Mondays now, so easy to walk around downtown Bangkok at lunch time without dozens of umbrella holding, mobile phone chatting, walking slower than a group of snails, locals in my way. i just wonder what the tourist police do on Mondays as they don't have to go around hassleing street vendors. Maybe it's their day off. Back to the subject, I find it completely inconsiderate that the bib don't let us know ahead of time when they plan to close entertainment outlets early. I really think it's just a case of waving their 'you know whats around' before the long holiday weekend (I am counting Friday as a holiday) because most of them will be away for the weekend.

And define "everything else". Nothing was open from soi 7 to cowboy, or at least they weren't admitting new customers.
July 16, 200817 yr Author You t.s, Mr Bubble? Thought so. It is desperately, desperately sad. But when you see an old man limping down the street, does the humanitarian in you think "sod him, he's a bit past it"? No, the classier amongst us say "he could've fought in WW2, the war the Americans joined 3 years' too late, he could be a hero!", and then seek to protect him. Tis all about class. And obviously breeding. Yeah, education. Oh, and wit, style and sophistication. Goodness, basic intelligence too. Breeding. An understanding of irony, satire and, oh, nevermind...
