I bought the new CCU-680 for internet access. According to the installation instructions I must turn of my firewall. I dont know if this is just for connecting or installing .......

However I CAN NOT even turn of the FIREWALL on MY OWN COMPUTER!

It says It is controlled by group policy. I have searched the group policy functions aimlessly on my computer and the user privilages too. I have booted up in safe mode too and tried as an admin to turn it off but I can not.

Any direction Please?

That's strange, as grouppolicy would be used when in an active directory envirorment, indeed a great way to prevent users from fiddling with the firewall.

Do start, run, gpedit.msc navigate to Administrative templates, Network, Network connections, windows firewall, and check domain profile or local profile, ensure the setting protect all network connections is set to not configured, this way you can turn the firewall on or off.

HI thanks for the reply. I am at work now so can not check it. However last night I did get as far as Admin Templates (via run -> gpedit.msc) and I think I just deleted all the templates. .. :o
