Parents' Visa Information

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am Bhaumik, working in Thailand from Jan '07 and have workpermit till Jan'09. (And I will get one more year extension from my company to stay here). I am Indian national.

I want to bring my parents who are above age of 50 and want to stay with me so that I can take their better care.

They want to come for about 6 months to 1 year.

So, I am confused about which type of visa will help them to stay in Bangkok for atleast 6 months.

Can you please suggest me how can I get longer stay for them in the Kingdom.

Regards,

Bhaumik

Section 7.19 would allow there entry and stay for up to one year based on your one year extension of stay (under 7.14?). Please read from link in useful information at top of forum and select Police Order 606/2006.

Thank you very much for quick response, and I got the document of police order 606/2006 :o

But it does not have any specification for which VISA I should apply for my mom-dad, and from where I have to apply.

I have 2 concerns

1) Which type of visa to be applied ?

2) Can I apply for that visa in India itself prior bringing them to Thailand?

Regards,

Bhaumik

Believe non immigrant O visa single entry is what they need, issued on the basis of your passport/extension of stay stamp and proof of you being there son. Yes it should be obtained in India.
