I have MaxNet Indy. It's been working fine. It was working fine when I went to bed last night. When I got up this morning it was not working fine. For some reason I had an IP address beginning with 10. This series of IP addresses is reserved for private use (say, within a LAN) and are not to be exposed to the public Internet. Whatever DHCP server gave me that IP address it also gave me the IP address of the gateway (also a 10. IP address) and two DNS addresses (valid).

We called MaxNet and they put us through the usual hoop jumping routine. Reset your router. Reconfigure your router. Blah, blah, blah.

The tech finally gave up and said she'd refer the problem to her supervisor.

A few minutes later I receive an SMS message with a new user name and password. (The new user name has "indy" imbedded in it.) The tech called back to confirm that it was working. It was.

I asked why I was assigned a new user name and password without being told in advance:

"Sorry sir. Our system have big problem on Monday."

Anyone other MaxNet customer get a new user name and password or am I just lucky?
