I want to accuse someone, softly if possible, of being bossy. Is there an appropriate word or expression to convey the meaning or do these expressions do the job :

ซึ่งสั่งให้ทำ

ซึ่งสั่งการ

เจ้ากี้เจ้าการ

The Benjawan Poomsan Becker dictionary has this for "bossy":

เจ้าบงการ (jao-bong-gaan)

I regularly use it. Usually gets a laugh from the ladies.

This might be something between my girlfriend and her friends, but bossy is one of the few English words I ever hear her say. I tend, therefore, to leave it in English in the middle of a Thai sentence.

Perhaps one of our native speakers could say whether เจ้ากี้เจ้าการ for example is a common Thai expression or bossy is now commonly used.

Readers might wish to consider the following word as a alternative for "being aggressive or pushy". However, note that the tenure of the term is anything but cute. Best not to accuse your wife using this term.

ก้าวร้าว [Adjective] aggressive; offensive

Syn. ระราน, , เกะกะ, หยาบ, กระด้าง

Sample:เขาแสดงกริยาก้าวร้าวต่อพ่อแม่ของเขา

He acted very aggressively toward his parents.

ก้าวร้าว [Verb] be aggressive; be offensive

Def. แสดงกิริยาวาจาไม่เคารพยำเกรงผู้ใหญ่.

to display by action or speech a lack of respect for one's elders or superiors.

He did not become as offensive as other people thought (that he did).

While working with other Thai's I've come across, many who seem to medle in what I consider to be my personal space and buisness, far outside the norm for both cultures IMHO. I've used the phrase ไม่ใช่ธุระของคุณ and in impossible situations เสือก although the latter is very impolite, and the former not a polite thing to say in a group definitely a one on one conversation, but it hits the point home. I would only use เสือก if I was not planning on speaking to the person again, or they were a close friend.
