My family is planning to come to Thailand to visit me for a couple of weeks and I thought renting a van to travel around would be a good idea. I have driven in Thailand before but not as much in Bangkok as it is pretty crazy for me even to walk . Does anyone know of a good company that rents out well-maintained vans and is not located in the center of Bangkok?

Probably better to hire a van with driver, you can get reasonable daily rates with a driver that 'works' 10 hours a day taking your tribe across the country and deals with all the hassles while you can manage the destinations and food stops.

I can PM you with contacts in Bangkok or Pattaya that do this sort of thing if need be.

Getting a minibus that is NGV or LPG will make the trip much more wallet friendly.
