Nearly 2 Million Meth Pills Seized in Nong Khai Cemetery Raid
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod In a dramatic operation, nearly 2 million methamphetamine pills have been seized from a cemetery near the Mekong River in Thailand's Nong Khai province. The early morning raid, conducted by the Surasak Montri Task Force's Ranger Company 2104, disrupted a major drug trafficking attempt, leading to the arrest of one suspect. The operation took place at 4 am on 2nd April, with forces observing suspicious movements near Ban Woen cemetery in the Mueang subdistrict, Phon Phisai district. Military personnel spotted three individuals retrieving sacks from a riverbank drug drop-off point and placing them on a nearby footpath. As an accomplice arrived by car, the task force moved in, prompting the suspects to flee under the cover of darkness. One suspect escaped in the vehicle, but authorities managed to apprehend another. The operation unearthed seven sacks containing approximately 1,882,000 methamphetamine pills. The joint effort involved local police, Border Patrol Police Company 245, and Nong Khai Marine Police, ensuring the successful seizure of the narcotics. Upon arrest, the suspect admitted to collecting the drugs from across the border, intending to distribute them further inland with his accomplices. The confiscated pills have since been verified at Ranger Company 2104 and handed over to Phon Phisai Police Station for ensuing legal action. This operation highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking along Thailand's borders and the crucial role of cooperation among various enforcement agencies in curbing illicit activities, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-04-03 -

Le Pen’s Ban Fuels Hard-Right Narrative of Persecution
Ah, the old “ two their (sic) justice system in the UK” defense eh? Presumably you refer to the UK justice system which jails environmental protesters to 5 years jail for just planning a protest but giving a (comparative) slap on the wrist to far right thugs who encouraged the burning down of centres housing terrified human beings. Yup two tier indeed. -

Thailand Urged to Form ‘War Room’ in Response to US Tariffs
Here's a thought. Reduce the 72% tariffs being levied on American imports into Thailand. You're still only getting half the rate. I wouldn't be surprised (or disappointed) to see the 36% rate increase even more if there's no reciprocal movement. -
