sgtpeppers
I couldn't find this word in my dictionary. I found it often on the internet, I suspect it is slang but guessing. Hoping someone knows the meaning.
mike_l
I think it's probably "comment", you find it a lot on thai blogs, pictures sites and the like.

sgtpeppers
I think it's probably "comment", you find it a lot on thai blogs, pictures sites and the like. there appears to be a few different meanings but this is the one I think. yes, its on comments pages on blogs. could be derived from the word "comments" as in (com)men(ts). or at least an easy way to remember it. 5tash
Yes it seems to be an abbreviation of "comment".
mike_l
I think it's probably "comment", you find it a lot on thai blogs, pictures sites and the like. there appears to be a few different meanings but this is the one I think. yes, its on comments pages on blogs. could be derived from the word "comments" as in (com)men(ts). or at least an easy way to remember it. I'm sure it is derived from English, as you also see it spelt as เม้นท์ or เม้นต์ sometimes, which are a bit closer to the English -men(t). I guess as a slang word there isn't really one standard spelling, we'll have to wait for it to get added to the RID first for that. Rikker's blog has got more of these words too, well worth a read. siamesekitty
as mentioned above, yes, it's "comment", but keep in mind that although the word "comment" is fairly known among the educated, "เม้น" in the sense of posting comments on a blog or profile page is used only it's only used among the Internet-savvy generation (users of Hi5, Facebook, MySpace, etc). The older folks will have no idea what you're talking about.
zora
if you found this word in your blog or myspace or hi5 (or things like that) the concept of this word would be 'comment' (the thais alway shorten words themselves)
