Billing Problems At Microsoft

I have been a long time subscriber to HotmailPlus services and over the years have made changes to the billing information (while living here in Thailand)without a problem, adjusting the credit card details to reflect new card information, new expire date etc without any problems. But since the implementation of Live the ability to update my account information has gone south big time.

I am no longer able to make changes and the screens that are offered now include Thailand as home country with no option to change that and additionally the Province information is changed to Thai and the dropdown listing only includes a few provinces in Thai language and of course my province isn't one of them. I suspect that even if it was one of them my account update would not work because the bank has the information of address stored in English.

Every time I try to update account information I am returned to the same screen form requesting that I re enter the information again.

I have been working with Microsoft support for over a year trying to get a resolution and even their second level support people are not able to get to the bottom of it all and the final suggestion that I got from them was to open a new account, which also refuses to activate.

I know the cards that I try to use are valid and functional since I am able to make other purhases on the internet with them and have no problems with such transactions.

Net result is that I am no longer able to buy anything from Microsoft direct, and have lost total control of my account information. My question is Has anyone else run into this type of problem, living in Thailand, or am I the lone ranger?
