Ko Samet, Bus To Rayong Or To Ban Phe Is Better?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if there was any advantage to be had by taking a bus from the Ekamai Bus Terminal to Rayong and then a Songtaew to Ban Phe to get to Ko Samet instead of just the direct bus to Ban Phe? Would it be a faster bus ride?

Also I've read about there being a direct A.C. bus to Ban Phe from Ekamai but the ones I've taken always seem to make at least a few stops along the way - I've only seen one ticket window at Ekamai...
