As i am slightly confussed with all the different Visa types and regulations and ever moving "goalposts" can anyone please tell me what i should do when my "non O" visa expires at the end of October in order not to have to go back to the U.K.

My current Visa is a non "O" multi entry issued in Hull as i am over 50 years old but not married to Thai.

Any info would oblige

If you do a visa run the day before it expires you will get another 90 days entry.

You can then extend your stay for a year at an Immigration Office if you have an income of 65,000 Baht a month OR 800,000 Baht in a Thai bank OR a combination of the two

Failing this you are unlikely to get another multi entry in Asia. Probably a single Entry Non O

OR a double entry Tourist Visa in Vientienne Laos.

I would also be interested in this info! My Non-Imm O multi entry has already expired and I cannot renew in Singapore as I have before. My visa is based on marriage (11yrs) and now I have a problem, or a long trip to UK!

Still searching.......!

KL seems to be the best bet at the moment.

Are they still issuing multi entry there? I thought I saw something on their website to the contrary.

There has been quite a few reports of success in Kl and the odd one in Penang.

Lots of info here..

Hi brithaish

Can you qualify for annual visa Extensions based on Marriage

which you apply for in Thailand?

Instead of getting new visas in Singapore.

Is that the Visa expiry date OR your permission to stay expiry date?

Hi cyrily22

Dont worry - that is why we are here !!! haha

But as Lite Beer has already pointed out - I asked for your Permission to Stay date Stamp.

When you last arrived in the Kingdom, Immigration stamped your Passport with your Arrival

Date and an Until Date

Please tell us those TWO dates

Well certainly THAT is ANOTHER Problem!!!!

But surely you have a Copy?

Can you still give us the dates?

As I am worried that you might already be on Overstay.

Can you REMEMBER your ARRIVAL date?

Everything is ok, you are on a non O multiple entry visa, you can make a border run on the 30th August and again on or before the 28th of November 2008 and get yet another 90 day stamp.

After that you need to get another visa from abroad, or you need to make sure you have had 800,000 in the bank here in Thailand for over 3 months (there are other options including an embassy certified letter of income: greater than 65,000 THB pcm or combinations of income and thai bank deposit).

Then you apply for an Extension of Permision to Stay on the basis of Retirement at your local immigration department. As you are over 50 you are eligible to apply. You should visit immiogration to apply, less than 4 weeks before any of your entry stamps expires.
