Type O To Wp+visa

I have a type O visa that runs until the end of October. I am due a 90 day stamp out / stamp back in on the 24th of this month. However I am about to start work next week and the school will arrange my WP/visa. As my 90 day stamp is due while my WP is being processed should I do a quick run this weekend or can I show immigration in Bkk that my WP is being processed and get a visa extension thereby saving having to do the visa run. I guess there may be a fee involved in this but at least I'd save the hassle of going to Vientianne.

1. You can not legally start work without a work permit.

2. Visa extensions are based on meeting one year extension of stay requirements and not all employment meets those so not sure if you will meet the requirements but you will not meet the "3. Copy of Working permit" so do not believe the one year extension could be issued. If a private school below are the requirements. Expect you are best to make another border crossing to obtain a new 90 day stamp.

2. Copy of Passport of the Applicant

3. Copy of Working permit

4. Copy of the Institute’s educational

license issued from related

government sector.

5. Certify letter requesting for continuous

of employment from that education

institute illustrating the amount of

salary and the duration of employment

6. Teaching in a Private education

institute must attach a copy of the

teacher’s license and copy of teachers

enroll permit
