I would really appreciate any help those with experience in extending a Non O visa might have. Last year when my wife and I went to immigration to extend my Non O they wanted pictures of our respective workplaces, but this was not listed on the sheet they gave us. We had to run, go take pics at her office, and then return to wait in a very long line.

What specific documents, pictures, etc. do we need to extend my Non O in the next month or so? I remember that Sunbelt used to have a detailed list but I have not been able to find it. Please, if you can, let me know what exactly I need to extend my Non O one more year. Does anyone have Sunbelt's list or an updated list of things needed that has been issued by immigration? Thanks for any help you can offer. :o

The above, it you click visa extensions will provide the general list of documents required for each type of extension. But nobody can be sure that other things (like photos) will not be asked for as these are often asked on a case by case basis.

Note the above website works with IE or IE Tabs using Firefox.

Interesting.... That site specifically lists the following family relationships....

Visa Extension

to spend the remainder of life

to receive the support from a husband who is a Thai citizen or a Thai permanent resident(an non-Thai wife)

to support a wife who is Thai citizen or who is a permanent resident (non-Thai husband)

to support children who are Thai citizens(an non-Thai father or mother )

to receive support from children

to receive support from parents

for a parent to support a child who is studying

It does NOT list a Thai wife supporting a Foreign Husband.

Is this another non-documented rule change... or just some Discrimination and the usual twisting of the Law?

I'm going for an extension based on my Wife's Income on Wednesday... Guess I'll find out then.

The immigration web-sites are often ill worded and are rarely up to date - they should be used for 'guidance'

You certainly can apply for an extension based on support by your Thai wife.

You will apply for an Extension of Permision to Stay under National Police Order 606/2549section 7.17 which states:

7.17 In case of the foreign national is the member of the Thai national's family (Only for Father, Mother, Husband or Wife, ordinary child, adopted child or the child of the marriage couple.)

Each time of permission shall be granted for the period not exceeding 1 year.

Thanks for the replies so far, (lopburi3, etc.) but does anyone know the specific documents needed now to extend a Non O based on marriage to a Thai wife? Sunbelt used to have a very detailed list.

And as I said the above link provides them. But each office or officer may have additional items they they want so it is often tailored to the specific case involved. You can be almost sure, if not already in file, to be asked for photos together to include inside home, outside home with number showing and a closet with both clothing together. A sketch map to your home may be required.

Required documentation for applying visa in case of

For supporting Thai wife

Marriage Certificate

Child's birth certificate (if any)

Wife’s house registration

Wife’s identity card

In case of Working

A copy of work permit or receiving work permit form ( WP.2 )

The letter from the applicant’s company to certify salary that the applicant receives not less than 40,000 baht per month (identifier position and salary) or husband or wife working has Income including at least 40,000 baht/month

Personal Corporation income Tax (PND.1) in latest 3 months and personal income tax for previous year with receipt

Recording interviewing the husband and wife for confirming status of husband and wife

House’s map

Other such as Registration Company

Picture of house and family

Under new rules it is a family extension of stay so wife can also be the, or part of the source of funds. In that case personal income tax payments of previous year seems to be required.

And you have to have wife with you and copies of everything. The application is on form TM.7 and a new 4x6cm photo needs to be attached. Cost is 1,900 baht.

The "supporting Thai wife" provision was changed to family under the 2006 change. So now income of both parties can be used to meet the 40k per month requirement.
