Did you like my PM? :o

Very nice, thank you. It's obvious I'm not a pro !

Actually the same view at night, with the full moon like last week, is absolutely fabulous but everytime I try to take a picture it's just blur. I really need to improve my technique.

What do you see from your window ?

It's not a beauty contest, we don't care about the quality of your picture, just show us what you see right now.

I'm in Hong Kong, yesterday we had a typhoon , not that bad, and on the good side it washed away the pollution.

And from your window, what do you see ?

Did you take your photo in Discovery bay or Ping chau?

That certainly is a million dollar view, very decent of you to share your misfortune with us, sympathy will no doubt abound. Will the next post involve pictures of our Italian cars?

DB. My wife works near the airport and me downtown, it's a good compromise.

Is it the Tsing Ma bridge on the second picture ?

Yes, it is Tsing Ma bridge . The first picture is the same view before the construction of the bridge.

Well you said it wasn't a beauty pageant. This from my office, haven't got any from my digs.

Unit 40 (Power Island) HHP steam boilers and common flue gas duct.

This one from atop the Resid Cracker Complex (+73 metres).

post-34490-1219731784_thumb.jpg

Looking away over the rice fields to the distant mountains.

To paraphrase the song "Take paradise put up a <deleted>' great oil refinery".

Definitively the grass is greener on the other side of the fence !

Where is this place ?

Binh Son Refinery project just outside the sleepy village of Dung Quat (pronounced Yung Quat if you're from south or Zung Quat if you're from north Viet Nam) about 90km south of Da Nang.

Dung Quat main street.

post-34490-1219738470_thumb.jpg

The whole area is now designated the Dung Quat Economic Zone and in five to ten years, if all goes to plan, will be a mass of heavy and light industry, petrochemical and chemical works and housing for the workforce.

Sad :o but that's what we call progress. Everybody is currently lauding China for the superlative show it put on aka the Olympics. We should remember that it all is on the back of similar industrialisation but on a massive scale and at a massive environmental price.

How is what you can see from your window generally relevant to Thailand?

If you look hard and close enough you can spot the Thai restaurant just across the water. Can't you?

On the left side of the picture, with a big magnifier, you should be able to see Thailand. I’m only 1,750 km away from Bangkok.

An other question ?

Why not post your question about technique in our http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Photography-Arts-f84.html forum.

Just for your information.

Your picture is a southeast direction. Thailand is southwest of DB

Nakorn Phatnom is 1,112 km from DB. The nearest piont of Thailand to Hong Kong. I got a few relatives who live in there, I enjoy telling them.

At least someone is paying attention, thank you !!

I also want to thank all the nice people who sent their pictures, but I wish we could get pictures from two more places :

- Farms in Thailand. I would like to see more about, as the sub forum says, "Thailand's unique approach to agriculture."

- Koh Pahngan. I went there in 1984 (easy to remember, "Made in Thailand" was playing everywhere). I believe when I was there we were no more than 50 falangs on the island. I read recently that full moon parties now bring regularly crowds of more than 25,000 people (really ?). How does it look like ?

Farms in Thailand go to our other forum with photos. Chaing Rai Forum.

Koh Pahngan and visit the Koh Samui forum here on ThaiVisaDotCom, there is a great thread with photos on it.

Seek and you will find. :D
