Sometimes a question, asked in a forum, can be so LOADED, as to be a problem. Not always, but now and then.

Recently, a question was asked about who would marry a drug dealer and the board leapt into life with rumour and innuendo, and I made a flippant remark about an Immigration Officer, based to the North of the Kingdom, who was reputed to be in exactly that situation.

A few minutes later, in a PM to me, a board regular requested details of the rumour, which has been around for years, as to who the officer was. My response was to suggest he was joking of course.

Imagine my shock, then, when this morning, this board regular advised he has spoken to a senior immigration officer and informed her of what had been said. Imagine my further shock, when he advised me to look out for a knock on my door.

So in answer to my rhetorical question, asked in the header to this post..no one. Especially if someone has their own agenda which is LOADED towards giving up other expats, for voicing an opinion. considered or otherwise, in order to advance themselves in the eyes of the department of immigraton.

In some places, that person would be considered a "dog". :o

1. I don't get the connection between the topic title and it's content but no matter.

2. If you suspect that any board member is passing out personal information regarding yourself then use the report button to report them to a Mod or Admin. But as you use a nickname there's very little anyone could gain unless you provide specific details about yourself in you profile or your posts.

3. Be very carefull repeating rumours and hearsay on TV because, as with any internet forum, there are some strange folks out there.

If that is the case, that board regular must lead a very sad and dull life.

Dog? That is an insult to dogs.

T*sser seems a more appropriate thing to call the regular.

I have knwn interesting tossers. This guy just get loaded and spouts off to immigration. How worrying is that? Maybe he is an informant for the Home Office as well as anyone else that offers him a beer.

I seeyour point though. You can trust your dog. I suppose the clue is be careful who you go drinking and get loaded with.
