I have a 1 year education Visa (exp. 1 july 2009). I am planning on a short trip to Laos in the next weeks, and also a trip to Norway for christmas. Do I have to visit immigration and fill out some papers for leavin & entering, or is there no problem? I am sorry if this have been answered already, but my searches came up empty.

A multiple-entry non-immigrant visa classification Ed is valid for an unlimited number of entries into Thailand for one year from the date of the visa’s issue date, or more specifically until the day before the “must be utilized” date stamped on the visa. You do not have to go to an immigration office for some paperwork before leaving Thailand.

Be sure what you have is a visa (90 days in country and then have to leave return) rather than a one year extension of stay (no exit of country required - only 90 day address reports). If you are on an extension of stay you must obtain a re-entry permit prior to travel to keep it alive.

Ah. It seems I have an extension of stay then, as I have to report every 90 days, but not leave the country. Is there much hokus-pokus to obtain the re-entry permit, or just a document and a stamp?

It is 1,000 baht single entry or 3,800 baht multi entry and will be a stamp in your passport with a number and expiration date (same date as your current permitted to stay stamp) and you will use that information for the visa section of arrival card on your return. You can obtain at any Immigration office without much ado. There is a single page form and photo requirement (and perhaps copy of passport). It can be done at Bangkok airport after check-in just before departure immigration counters but extra time would be needed (allow half hour or more). I would suggest you get early at an immigration office.
