Hi Guys,

Im trying to minimise the loss of funds when going to Thailand in a few weeks.

Am I better of changing my Aussie $ to Baht in Australia or in Thailand...

We wont be in Bangkok long, we basically land at 6am and are on a flight to Chiang Mai at 7:35 or something, so not a lot of time in bangkok...

Am I better off brining Aussie $ in cash and changing it? Or Travelers Cheques?

Thanks in advance :o

Change your Aussie $ in Bangkok Airport.

It gives you a far better rate, than here.

aprox 4 BTH per AUS $ sometimes.

We are doing 3 nights in Chiang Mai, 2 nights in Bangkok then 5 in phuket... But yeah, not there for long when we land on the first day :o

Thanks to everyone for your replies.

Is it better to take travellers cheques or just AUD$ then?

Travellers cheques, NOWAY.

You pay to get them, you pay to cash them.

Dum idea, but if you worry about losing cash, then "up to you", as the Thai bar gal says..... :o

Always cash for me every trip.

Edit

Just adding, VISA is considering, stopping issueing travellers cheques.

May have already done so.

I am talking VISA NZ..... other countries ???
