Xxx-websites !

It would be interesting to know where they draw the line.

Suppose your looking at a website running non-pornographic content which runs pornographic banner ads? Would this be illegal (would whether you actually looked at/didn't look at...enjoyed/didn't enjoy factor into the legality?)

Suppose you go to a website (which you though contained legitimate content) and it happens to contain pornography, have you already broken the law? How long do you have to stay on the site before the law has been broken?

Think so. Thailand blocks and censors a lot of web sites and programs. If you've ever used Camfrog you'll notice that Thai users are unable to view chat rooms in other countries. And in the Thai chat rooms, the internet police monitor the rooms and ban anyone that shows any nudity. All the other countries chat rooms are full on orgies, in the Thai ones so much as show a nipple and banhammer comes down.

This certainly used to be the case although my recent experiences tend to show me that there is now no active censorship. However it might have something to do with which ISP you use.

Pornography and prostitution are illegal in Thailand.

The Thai thought police blocked a lot of sites and instead of naughty pictures up popped a less than titillating message from the BIBs. I wonder if they are still doing it?

Pornography and prostitution are illegal in Thailand.

You are living in Thailand and you want to watch Porn on your computer.... You need to get out more.

as i am not a natural english speaker, could you tell me the deeper meaning of

...you need to get out more .... ?

Consider it as shipping ice cubes to the Arctic. Why indulge in a solo sport when there are so many wanting to play team games? They are more fun you know.

Never understood the appeal of phone sex either. :o

Don't settle for cheap imitations, demand the real thing.

Until I read in TV that it was illegal, I made a porn film of an ex girlfriend and myself. It was at her request too. Had photos of most of my Thai girlfriends in bed.

Not that I have these now I know it to be illegal !!

I would rather have a taster on the internet.

Wait !! That is illegal too??

Suppose I had better go out and pay for a lady.

Sh*t. That is illegal too??

What is a man to do? It is enough to give you cramp in your right hand. Unless you are left handed of course :o

thanks to all for their nice smalltalk - but nearly nobody came to a fact about this issue

since i was reading in the forum here, that the internettraffic will watched for 90 days,

i just asked myself - and all the noble members of this forum - a simple question:

is watching pornographic web sites a crime?

Why not log onto your favourite XXX website, and simultaneously call the police to tell them what you are doing.... Then see who comes first.

I know this will mean using the keyboard with one hand while using the phone with the other, but I'm guessing your one handed keyboad skills are up to the job in hand.

The possession of naughty pictures is illegal. By accessing these sites you are downloading naughty pictures to your computer, so yes, I strongly suspect it would be judged illegal if the BIBs were trying to pin you down.

Nobody seems to have bothered answering the OPs question sensibly. I also can't provide a definitive answer...but nonetheless, I'll comment.

I can currently access at least 5 "pornographic" websites. These websites show explicit sex. Also, the names of these sites specifically indicate that they are Thai. The same applies to the individuals who are cast on these websites (the inference is that the "models" are Thai). Further, these websites specifically state that all "models" are over 18 years of age.

The above info is quite vague.

1] What is the location of the server hosting the site?

2] Even though the site "infers" that the models are Thai, they could be from (existing in) any SE Asian country...or from any country, for that matter.

Since when have photos etc of consenting adults engaged in explicit sex, been illegal? The answer to this may well be with regard to the illegal sale/distribution of said "media" & may also be about the involvement of minors.

If ALL pornography is illegal here, then the next step would be to define what Thailand deems to be "illegal pornography".

If the viewing of ALL pornography in Thailand is illegal, then I think that it is possible (but not feasible) that at least 80% of the population in Thailand could face criminal charges sooner or later.

To me, the whole concept that certain types of sex is "illegal", bad or wrong, is completely idiotic.

For fuxsake, there are people who become sexually aroused when watching other animal species copulate. What will the "thought police" do then? Start arresting/killing these "licentious" beings?

Logically, ALL pornographic material is NOT illegal in Thailand...but then again, TIT.

The Thai laws are vague and refer to "public order and morality". This is obviously open to wide interpretation and so I don't think that there is going to be a definitive answer.
