Reentry Permit Whilst Awaiting Visa Renewal

Featured Replies

I am just in the process of renewing my annual visa based on marriage. I went to Jomtien Immigration on the 20 August for my visa expiration date of 30thAugust. I have to go back to see if the extension has arrived on the 29th September.

So I have a stamp in my passport to remain in Thailand until 29th September.

However, my mum is in hospital and I may need to go to the UK next week.

Can I just apply for a one entry re-entry permit that would be valid until 29th September??? Or do I have to wait for my visa renewal to be completed first.

Thanks for your help - these emergencies always seem to occur at the most inconvenient moment dont they!

Yes. You can get a re-entry permit on any kind of 'permit to stay' stamp. Just try to be back 2-3 days BEFORE 29.09. to be on the safe side.
