I tried to log on to the forum at around 10pm Thai (4pm UK) time yesterday, only to be presented with a message along the lines that it was down owing to maintenance and apologising for any inconvenience caused.

Were we talking about a pre-planned maintenence session in this instance? If so, I wonder whether, for the future, it might be helpful to publicise such sessions in advance to Thaivisa members - perhaps through a banner message whenever they log on to the forum section of the website a day or so beforehand.

On the other hand, if it was not pre-planned, I accept that it is 1 of those IT glitches which we just have to live with.

Yes, thanks, Mossfinn, it was. Are routine monthly maintenance sessions usually scheduled for the first working day of each month, with the length of the anticipated outage period being dependent on the complexity of any accompanying software upgrades, etc?

Memo to self - always check the General Topics forum for such advance warnings at around 9.30pm Thai time on the first working day of each month, rather than making your own postings on this forum after the event :o
