At the scene, police found Mr. Robert Koenig, (56), American citizen, had sustained one stab on his neck, two stabs on his stomach and another stab on his right arm. He was lying in a pool of blood with seriously condition. The rescue team immediately rushed him to Bangkok Pattaya hospital.

The witness, Mr. Sigi Pitralla (69), German citizen, told police that, he heard Mr. Koenig (injured man) had a quarrel with his neighbor, Mr. Paul Lauretta (61), American citizen, who stays at room No. 1217.

Mr. Sigi added, he had not paid a special attention because it was the routine matter. After 5 minutes, Mr. Koenig ran to knock on his door for help, while Mr. Luaretta, the disputant ran back to his room.

At the room No. 1217, police questioned Mr. Lauletta, in front of his wife and a child. Mr. Lauletta admitted that he had a serious argument with Mr. Koenig as they had been regularly arguing for quite a long time. Mr. Lauletta refused of stabbing Mr. Koenig. Subsequently, reporters had visited Mr. Koenig who still remains in the hospital. The wounds were not considered life threatening. Mr. Koenig told reporters that Mr. Lauletta, his neighbor, was the one who stabbed him. He said that Mr. Lauletta was angry whenever he invited friends for a drink in his room. This time, they had a big argument and led into a fighting. Mr. Lauletta was not comparable with him; he then ran back to his room and grabbed a knife to stab him.

Mr. Koenig insisted that he would not let Mr. Lauletta easily slip out of this case.

Pol.Capt. Chanathat Nawakunarangsri, case owner, revealed that, initially Mr. Lauletta had not been alleged for any charge because the police inspector did not register arresting record, in addition, Mr. Lauletta also denied because there was no evidence. Police would investigate the injury again to find out the conclusion later.

Apart from that, is there any chance of the Pattaya Daily News ever getting an English-speaking reporter?

Gizza job.

I can do dat.

Senior Citizens on speed ....shocking Asia.

I my God...the Mr. Paul involved in this incident is an acquaintance of mine :o

Just another danger of condo living...with these tiny units, it's like putting too many rats in a cage...eventually they turn on each other!

Apart from that, is there any chance of the Pattaya Daily News ever getting an English-speaking reporter?

What on earth are you implying :D The reporter in question most likely has a BA in English language. His nonsensical style of writing surely makes him an ideal candidate as a political speach writer :o

The mind boggles to know that the editor of this so called English newspaper is the editor - no shame!

I can only assume that noise from the neighbour and his drinking friends has a lot to do with this. I cannot understand how people have little or no respect for their neighbours. But of course I could be wrong.

yes , they should have used guns.

I guess they weren't Texans then.

stabbing of "two American" what happened to the other one?

Zorro. You always want the niggling little details. It's a mystery.

Mr. Koenig insisted that he would not let Mr. Lauletta easily slip out of this case.

Potential balcony jumper.

Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for one and a speedy trial for the other.

Well I spied the uninjured Mr. Paul driving his truck around central Pattaya this morning (Sunday 7th). I wonder what is going to come of this case...do the police have to wait till the injured fella recovers sufficiently to file a criminal complaint against this guy before they arrest and charge him with attempted murder?

I know the guy couldn't have been charged and bailed as he's basically broke (except for his condo).
