Eastender
I've copied the post below from www.lonelyplanet.com Thai branch. Can anyone translate this please, and I'll send the original poster your replies. Thanks - Eastender. I need the following quote by Buddha translated into thai (with thai script).... "Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment." I would also like to have it written in three or four equally long lines, thank you.... the scouser
อย่าอาศัยอยู่ในอดีต อย่าฝันถึงอนาคต เพ่งเลงจิตบนปัจจุบัน It may not be a verbatim translation but the sense should be conveyed. Mrs. Scouse.

Edward B
อย่าอาศัยอยู่ในอดีตอย่าฝันถึงอนาคต เพ่งเลงจิตบนปัจจุบัน It may not be a verbatim translation but the sense should be conveyed. Mrs. Scouse. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Small typo: เพ่งเล็งจิตบนปัจจุบัน That's pretty good scouser, but I'd use คิดถึง instead of อาศัยอยู่ for dwell in the first line since I'm sure it's meant to be about thinking instead of living, and use ใน instead of บน in the last line. The last line isn't quite right either. It sounds like you've just done a word-for-word translation! So my version would be: อย่าคิดถึงในอดีต อย่าฝันถึงอนาคต ตั้งจิตอยู่ในปัจจุบัน There may be more beautiful words to use instead and I'm always happy to listen to others.
