thaigecko
Anyone know of any road bike races for 2008/09? I've tried the hel_l out of searching for em on the net but no luck. I know thaimtb.com has a thread for races, but only see them in thai, unfortunately not at the thai reading stage yet.. and I think they are mostly mtb races anyway. I saw the cup in Hua Hin (november/decemer?)looks like it has a road race as well, but again, couldn't read the details though. Anyone have any info? Also, a long shot, but if anyone is in the chanthburi/klaeng/rayong area and wants to join up for a ride let me know.

There's a 5 day road race this week in Chiang Rai, 15-19 October. Each stage is 90-110km. This won't help much since all the info is in Thai: http://www.thaicycling.or.th/ There's also a one day race at Angkor Wat in Cambodia on 6 Dec. All info in English: http://www.villagefocus.org/angkor_marathon/ If you're ever up in Chiang Mai and want to go for a ride, let me know.

I have been a racing cyclist (road and track and time trials) for many years and my 9 year old also races (2nd in a cyclo cross today). Very keen to meet other cyclists in Chiang Mai and also keen on finding out what is going on cycling wise.
el jefe
We've got a good group of strong cyclists here in CM. I've set up an egroup and we have about 15 riders on it. Send me a PM and I'll send you an invitation to join. It sounds like you'd fit in well. Anyone know of any road bike races for 2008/09? el jefe
el jefe, thanks for the past post. don't suppose you're in the know about any other races the next couple months? Lots of MTB races. Unfortunnately few road races. There's a "recreational ride" up Doi Inthanon on either 14 or 15 Feb. While it's not a "race", several ridrs will be trying to win, everyone will know who is first, and there will be bragging rights involved. There's a road race and crit in Singapore the following weekend. The Tour of Thailand is sometime in late March (way beyond my current level). The Egat Stage Race is in May. I'll post more if I learn more.
thaigecko
Thanks, i did manage to find the below link that someone set up for racing in Thailand with some info in english, looks like he's up in Chiang Mai as well. Unfortunately most of the races he has posted are bigger and longer ones, think they might be a bit too big of a bite for me as well.. I might just have to dust off the ole mt bike I think.. http://forum.bamboo-lake-village.com/
