Hospitals & Doctors

Hello from Chiang Mai. My mother-in-law lives near Udon and has been seeing a doctor recently because she's coughing up small amounts of blood. The doc felt a lump in the abdomen that is suspicious enough to do a biopsy. The results are not back yet but I want to get a jump on things. Can anyone recommend a hospital and/or doctor that specializes in oncology? I would be looking for someone in the Udon, Khon Kaen areas.

I don't know specific doctors but you should call the Khon Kaen Ram Hospital which has a unit specialising in oncology.

They've been treating my mother in law who appears to have liver cancer.

Best of luck with her prognosis.

Here is another option.

Cancer Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen 40002, Tel.: (66) 43-243088

Be aware that KK - Ram Hospital is one of the local private providers. Although its 'hotel' services may be superior, the medical technology available is not - no MRI, for example. Their best specialists are people who hold their main appointments at the University Hospital, which has better scanning facilities.
