Moving Or Eradicating Bee Swarms

I have some new friends.Thousands of them have split off from an extremely large hive about twenty meters out back and have started a new swarming non-catholic mass just about 4 or 5 meters from the back door. Cramping my wife/washerwomans style. Can't get to the laundry and am being forced to turn my briefs inside out in order to get a couple more days use out of them.

I would like to find a beekeeper who can move the swarm to the neighbors yard near the kennel. SERIOUSLY need to get them out of here. Anyone know someone that can help?? Perhaps some of you at Mae Jo Uni. or the CMU can help.....

we had the same problem a week ago! the hive was in a bamboo tree near the house,,, we asked the local thai guy in our moo ban to rid the hive for us,,,, he took a stick put some paper around it, lit it on fire and placed it under the hive,,,, with in seconds all the bees were gone. he then removed the hive,,,,

Bunta, ask your wife to take a look at this link:

http://www.thaibees.com/main.php

- there are a couple of e-mail links just under the first 2 paragraphs, one of which is to a guy at CMU.

Also:

http://ns.ist.cmu.ac.th/centre/exp04/

(one of the same e-mail addresses and a CM phone number - bottom of the page)

Better all round to get them taken away rather than just smoked out - they'll do good somewhere else and won't come back to your place.

I am the only man in our moo baan and my balls aren't big enough to attack . We only seem to have old single women and their dogs/lovers

I beg to differ my good man...

Ok, I'm across the creek... :o Come on over and I'll kick ya in yer balls and make 'em bigger.

Old women, ha..the one across the street from me looks fairly young.

Be a man and throw yourself on them.

Don't know about Thai bees, but in the UK one easy way to deal with an outdoor bee or wasp nest is to point a hosepipe at it and leave it on. An ariel nest will falll apart and a ground nest will flood, either way the bugs get the message and move on. :o
