30 Day As You Arrive Visa. Extendable?

Recommended Posts

Go to your local immigration, its quite easy, fill out the form, if you are extending your holiday its easy, tell them why and there you have it.

They will give you an "Under Consideration" stamp and then you go back a month later and they do the extension.

If you are in Bangkok - go to Soi Suan Phlu and they have examples of how to fill out the form.

Don't forget to bring some photo's of yourself for the application.

Is the 30 day as you arrive tourist visa extendable?

I was injured in bankok and could not travel back home to USA I was a walk in no visa and I got extensions on my walk in visa but I had a doctors note.

if this helps you I can say they were not very cooperative with me thank goodness i had my Thai girl friend to help me I spent 3 months in Thailand before I left.

for 1900 bahts is worth the stay you save more than that on food there best of luck. I am going to Thai Embassy next time I visit and get a non immigration visa

30 day entry stamps are NOT extendanble which explains why they have a desk at Suan Plu specifically to authorise extension requests with a notice saying it's 1900baht! But hey, this is Thailand.

I have no idea how long you'd get but would back George's 10 days but be prepared to be refused. You'll forfeit your 1900baht

If you aren't already in Thailand I suggest you get a tourist visa then you'll have no worries.

How long do you want to extend? As i went through Thai immigration in October i mentioned i would like to stay 33 days (total). She said "no problem" - just pay the fine (200B per day) on the way out! I said are you sure? Should i apply for a visa extension? i don't want to get into trouble! She smiled knowingly and assured me it was ok. When i presented myself 33 days later the immigration officer looked at my passport and said "oh, you have overstayed. Walk this way please! Fill out a form, pay 600b and 15 minutes later i was on my way. He too assured me there would be no black mark against my name. Just my experience.

Over-staying your visa is NEVER a good idea.

Whilst you will have no problem leaving the country, they do stamp your passport to show that a fine has been paid. If you apply for another visa this can cause problems.

More serious is if something happens during the overstay period. Then you are off to immigration court. For Baht 1900 why take the risk. For Baht 2000 you can have a day trip to the casino's and an extra 30 days.

Slim dog. An extra 30days on a 30 day stamp?

Are you talking from personal experience or do you know an instance where 30days has been granted?

He is talking, I believe, about the organized VIP bus trips to border/visa/crossing/return/new 30 day stamp.

Entry without visa stamps as not extendable as a rule without a valid reason, such as a request from your Embassy, medical emergency and such but is recent years have been quite common for 7-10 days from most offices and some even reported doing several times. Believe they are getting tighter again and doubt any unsupported request will get more than the 10 days George mentioned. As the cost is a trip/uncertainty and 1,900 but believe it would make sense for most to just obtain a tourist visa prior to arrival if there is any chance they may want to stay longer than 30 days. It is not that hard (especially compared to a Thai trying to get for your country). :o

A few years ago Pattaya used to grant a 10 day extension to a 30 day on arrival stamp and even a further 5 day extension after that, but that was your lot. As pointed out already they are getting a lot stricter these days and the best you could hope for now would be a 10 day extension..........the 10 and 5 day extension only used to cost 500 baht then as well!

Ask yourself. With what authority does anyone on this site responsd to your query?

None.

Personal experience?. Unlikely.

In law 30 entry stamps are not extendable. In practice they are.

But to enter the country on that assumption is risky. Use you common sense.

As Muanwai ( funny name that ) this idiot was banned for giving spurious advice. This reborner now leaves us as well. A new nick name is not usually an unbanning device.
