My wife likes clean shaven. GF likes stubble. I shave every other day. Keeps both of them happy at least half the time.

Can't shave everyday for fear of a rash. My stubble is really rough and hurts like buggery if I shave the next day. She only gets ratty when we go out and I haven't shaved for a couple of days but certainly doesn't dictate to me on that front.

Heres my two bits

When I first met my wife in 1969 I had a tashe when we moved back to US I shaved off for a job interview, she laughed for two weeks until I grew it back. Because of work I never had a full beard until I retired. I have been retired for 14 years now and grew a beard as soon as I retired. I did shave once and again she thought I was very funny looking, I guess she has gotten use to it. (I am sort of chubby and in her opion my head looks too big without the beard.)

The wife had long hair for 30 years of our relationship and only in the last few years she got it cut, because a sister told her she was too old. go figure, but she looks great either way.
