Subject: Felix interview of November 28th about Thais, Farangs and Love......

To: [email protected]

Sunday November 28th from USA,

Hello Radio Bangkok:

I live in the USA and truly enjoy listening to Radio Bangkok 94. I

access via ThaiVisa.com.which I read often each week.

As a frequent visitor to Thailand 3 times each year - for a month at a

time - I am counting down the 3 years til I retire to Thailand.

However, allow me to say I was appalled and shocked listening this

Sunday November 28th... at about 18.50 hours Bangkok time...when I

heard an interview hosted by a reporter named Felix. He was hosting a

segment about Thai culture and finding your Thai for life and

love....yet, the gent he was asking the questions of was hardly "an

expert" ..in my opinion he was a "true jerk" who referred to ladies

outside of Thailand as "<deleted>" and it takes maybe 15 years to learn

to love a Thai ....and to me - he was not kind to Thais nor future

Expats seeking real helpful information.

I noted that the station quickly "cut-in" and started the fine music I

enjoy once again....soon after the gent referred to women away from

Thailand as being "<deleted>"....I hope my notation was due to your

Producer's realization of what was just being said in the program....

??

My recommendation is that you : Ditch both "Felix and his

co-hort/co-host" expert on Thai love and dating. They are not doing

Thailand any favors and surely misleading those who may be thinking of

coming to Thailand. Felix just seemed to agree with what was being

said by his co-host ...Felix acted like he was truly an amateur in

reporting, interviewing and in Thai culture and relationships.

Having made 18 visits these past 4 years to the Land Of Smiles, I have

found Thais to be warm, loving, caring, and genuine! Obviously, the

Felix of your station and his co-host of the program have found Thais

to not be the same...and they must have had serious problems from

wherever outside Thailand they have sought out love and relationships

in their past.

Sad, Sad, Sad Indeed!

The two also mentioned that one cannot find love in the Bangkok's,

Pattaya's, Phuket's of Thailand for the ladies and men of the bars,

clubs, streets, and night are not to be trusted and love is not to be

found there.

Again, these two gents from Radio Bangkok..Felix and Friend...are

wrong! I have many, many Expat friends who now live in Pattaya and

Bangkok and Chiang Mai...and they all have found their love in life

initially among the so called bars, clubs, sois of the streets of the

cities mentioned.

May I suggest you review the tape of the Felix broadcast of this

date/time? An "over the air" apology may be warranted.

In my opinion....their appearance on Radio Bangkok is truly a

discredit to your station and to the wonderful people of Thailand, to

me, and to your other avid listeners worldwide and in Thailand too!

Again, thanks for bringing Radio Bangkok to the air and

internet....but I could not let these comments of Felix and co-host go

unanswered.

Regards from the USA . I will be returning to the LOS in one month for

the holidays.

ps... I invite you to see www.thais4life.com - a volunteer group of

Expats operating from Pattaya which came together to save the life of

Somporn - a young Thai from Isaan who was dying of total kidney

failure. He was turned away from 5 Thai hospitals and sent home to

die. By the miracle of internet and donations from friends around the

world, Thais4Life has provided for Somporn's medical needs since

February, 2002 and his kidney transplant operation in July, 2002, by

their ongoing donations of time and energy Thais4Life was able to save

the life of Somporn. Today in Pattaya a Thais4Life Bookshop is open as

the Expat group seeks to help more Thais in medical need. As a

founding member of Thais4Life, I am proud of the role Expats do play

in the real lives of Thais in Thailand.

Jim from America is all wet. I didn't listen to the show as one who is seeking the bland advice of experts. I thought that the show was both confusing and amusing. Was Felix's friend really Felix? I want to be able to call in live and ask some questions. I almost fell out of mu seat when they talked about the fool who brought a mia noi home to meet his wife. I kind of feel sorry for the man because he was hurt physically, but at the same time I had to laugh at the pure lunacy of this horny dude.

Jim - there is a big difference between a thrice yearly sexpat in one of the big tourist traps and actually living and working here full time. Listen and learn.
