Any Recommendation To Rent A Car With A Driver?

I am going alone to Phuket for the business in this next 10 days..

Usually love to travel and enjoy getting around by myself...

But this time, I will be too busy to, have to focus on my tasks within limit time,

and I will have so many places to go around during a week being there.

The easiest way, so far.. I will need someone, a local to help driving me.

The expense is concerned but more..the driver (he/she) has to be a good-hearted one,

efficiency and can be rely on in my days and nights there.

I don't want to take advanture in this time.

Any recommend? Name, contact numbers would be helped...

Thanks, Sia Sia, Arigatoo, Maxi, Danken, Kob Kun Ka :D:o

It would probably help to know where on the island you will be staying. It would be best I suppose if the drivers home would not be on the other side of the island.

I can recommend a driver, he is based in Rawai, south Phuket and speaks some English, is very helpful to take you to get many things done in one day and wait for you, even go with you and help in any way he can if you need someone to speak Thai for you somewhere.

I have a friend that I've known for 7 years now based out of PHuket town.

His name is Chai and he speaks good English, is very helpful, a Phuket native, around 50 years old and has a registered taxi.

His phone no. is: 0818924452

I saw him yesterday, he is not very busy this time of year.

fren went on business trip to Phuket end last year from Singapore.

He had a craving for food and went out alone in the dark night to a restaurant.

His driving licence was subsequently detained because he cannot pay the bill. He left that restaurant some bahts and never went back again.

Thankfully, those few muscled thugs did not want to follow him back to the hotel though they did suggest wanting to escort the friend to a cash machine for more cash.

He now still has a bad impression of Phuket Thailand.

TS, do consider having your business people picking you up for your meetings and for them to arrange your transport.

And when you need to eat, go with some friends, preferably local.

So he buys a meal and has not enough money to pay for it. Or even go back to square up his bill.

AND HE HAS A BAD IMPRESSION OF PHUKET. Am I missing something here.... ???

I forgot to mention.

The bill came up to 5 000 baht for a pizza and a coca cola.

Sorry.

So you are claiming his bill was 5,000 baht for a pizza & coke. Hard to believe, a trip to the tourist police the following day would have been in order. On second thoughts maybe he confused the baht currency values. Should be more like 500 baht at most.

Thats what I thought too....

But he tells me he emptied his wallet to them, which consists of $30 Sing dollar & 1 000 plus bahts.

anyway, the idea of my friends story is to tell the thread starter.

Go with your local Phuket Business contact as much as possible.

Thais love their guests and they like entertaining. be gracious and foot the bills for the meals if they bring you around.

Bring bottles of good wine in your luggage to them and dont be stingy and tip whoever is driving you around generiously & discreetly, especially if they are just employees of people you are visiting.

I am also not against any guy who dont mind a gal to warm him bed and bring him around phuket in his free time. Be nice to the gals please.
