From yesterdays Bangkok Post:

Department deputy director-general Wuthichai Singhamanee said yesterday there were still defects in the airline's flight manual and managerial structure. The suspension was further extended until Monday.

Mr Wuthichai said the department wants Thai executives to take over the management of One-Two-Go.

He argued foreign managers who were running the airline were so obsessed with making profits that they arranged schedules which prevented pilots taking refresher training or resting sufficiently between flights.

This attitude was definitely a threat to the safety of pasengers.

Foreign executives were only interested in making maximum profit without being concerned with the improvement of pilot efficiency, he said.

He expected Thai managers would emphasise quality standards, understand Thai corporate culture and promote Thai-style services.

One might wonder, and the DCA might well enquire, why the Thai owner has allowed this situation to arise and continue, especially following the crash in Phuket ? Certainly it can not be because of his own insistence to his managers, on cost-cutting and profits, at the expense of safety ?

Evidently the Thai safety-bosses have yet to read the comments, on the popular aircrew/aviation web-site pprune , from farang pilots formerly employed by the airline ! Perhaps they are unaware of the site's existence, being too busy with their duties, to surf the net for news about their industry.

An uninformed person might also have supposed that pilots not taking the required breaks between flights, or being improperly-trained before hiring or while working for the airline, might have been picked-up by the regular DCA inspections of One-Two-Go ? Strange that they didn't. But doubtless also the fault of the foreign management. :o

Wonderful case of real racism. Blame everything on foreigners and claim Thai managers would be sent from God.

To bad we haven't seen it in real life so far.

I wasn't aware that any of the One-Two-Go management are foreigners? Just who are these hugely inept foreigners then? I think we should be told.

Cho is an American Citizen and was an executive within 1-2 GO in charge of pilot scheduling .

In the US District court SE Region is a copy of an email from him sent 2 days after the Phuket crash instructing the pilot logs be altered so as to in compliance with regulations. Thai DCA accepted these laltered ogs even though they were informed that were fraudulent AND THEN PASSED them on to US NTSB .

Why is Udom, CEO of 1-2 -Go still running Orient Thai, and why is Orient Thai still flying and why isn't Udom he under indiction for the 90 deaths on September 16 , 2007 ?
