What Do You Think To This Specification - Value For Money ?

Ive been looking for a notebook just for general home use and spotted this on offer at my local IT mall, I think its an older model but not knowing too much about hp computers could some one comment on its specification , and if its may be value for the money at 18, 900 Baht ...

You can get a better spec'd (slightly) Compaq at Macro for 17k.

These compaqs come without an operaating system that'll cost you between 3.5 & 4.4 thousand baht, if you buy original. I had a good study around and it's cheaper to buy a laptop that includes the s/w (obviously manufacturers get a better discount than we can).

A laptop for just over 20k can be found that includes s/w and will work out cheaper. Copy s/w is a potential problem with microsoft updates out to get you...

I think that Siam Paragon has a pc expo on now, should be worth a visit over the weekend if you have time. Good luck.

From my research the current benchmark is not the dual core but Core 2 Duo processors and then you are into the speed and cache capacity. Seems the 8xxx and upwards are the top end (ish) but you won't find those in 20k laptops.

I think 25k to 30k is where you have to be these days.
