Hi

All 4 of us are from US,

we have 1 year multiple visa entry we must leave each 90 days. The kids are in school in Phuket.

My wife and i did a visa run to Burma-got stamp for another 90 days.

I took my 2 kids passports (ages 5 and 9) and tried to get a stamp. the immigration official said i didn't need to as kids under 14 can overstay.

Back here in phuket where we live we were told by someone we had to get a stamp at phuket immigration office for both kids visa.

I am confused, any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

If the kids are in school you can try to get an extension to one year on base of education for them. No need for border runs then. You yourself could get an extension of stay for one year without the need for border runs as a dependend if you can show 500,000 in a Thai bank for each of you (so 1,000,000) in the 3 months before applying.

your children: 7.7 or 7.8

you: 7.10

Immigration and Light Beer are right, no overstay fine for children. But it is always nicer to do it the legal way.

Good advice. Per child, one parent can get annual extensions of stay as mentioned above. No more border runs for the parents.
