i live in chiang mai with my family. i'm wondering how many times we can walk across the border at mae sai *in a row* before they balk at the border? so far, we've been doing it every other time. we have a 90 day multi entry non-o visa. normally we fly out eveyr 90 days to some other country, but are wanting to cut way back on cost since we no longer have business outside of the country much. can we walk across the border at mae sai 2 or 3 times in a row without hassle or not?

if it's not good to do it twice in a row, what would be our cheapest option for 4 people to head out of the country from chiang mai?

thanks a ton!

With multi-entry visas you'll only be going every 90 days or so. I see zero issues :o

yes, crossy, but i guess i need to explain more. i've been told by someone that if you "walk" across more than once or twice in a row at the mae sai border, that immigration does not like that. they actually want you to do more than just walk across all the time at the same border. they want you to actually leave and do more than stay in the market for an hour. not sure if that's correct or not though, and it was also coming from someone who was doing that with a 30 day deal, not a 90 day visa. so, am just wondering if we'll have problems if we end up having to do that say ... 3 times in a row?

i hope that makes sense. i'm not really sure if i'm being clear on it or not.

There is a big difference between a 30 day border runner and your 90 day border runs.

Don't worry about doing it every 90 days.
