Powered Usb Hub

Featured Replies

I have been searching arounf for a 4 port USB hub that has mains power and haven't had much luck. Next stop will probably be fortune mall but has anyone bought or seen one of these in Bangkok?

I'm up in Chiang Mai and very recently purchases a TP-Link 5 port hub here (one port used for input leaving 4 free). No problem at all. Surely you can get one at Panthip Plaza in Bkk? This brand was recommended to me be out Thai Tech Guy - he says it's the only brand he will buy. Happy hunting.

You will find them at fortune town - no problem. Just make sure it includes the AC DC converter.

Don't know many ports where on it, but in Pantip you'll certainly find them. But couldn't be used in the US. Around THB 200 or so ....

so many Belkin 4 ports USB Hub need the external AC power.

I bought a Kensington 7 ports or you can stick a small light (supplied) in the top socket, about 1100thb and quite weighty, decided to by soemthing decent for a change!!

Great stuff, will take a leisurely stroll around fortune tomorrow and have a scan around. Cheers.

Hi :o

Be careful when buying!! Bring a thumb drive and INSIST to test it in the shop before buying.

Why?

I was looking for such device, too, and bought THREE of them (different models!) - only to find out that one was about to destroy my mainboard when the power supply was plugged in the hub, but the computer turned off (power was fed through the USB cable into the computer, which had the temperature monitoring LCD light up dimly and the CPU fan alarm beeping!!) and BOTH the others, although no problem with the power, turned out to be USB 1.1 only, despite the package saying "USB 2.0".

Of course, a refund was not offered - in Thailand you NEVER get a refund regardless how faulty a product is.

I ended up buying one off E-Bay which cost 20 Dollars (from Hong Kong) but is top-notch, 7 ports, USB 2.0, AC adaptor included and decent design (black-silver, just like my computer - not fancy toy-ish like the ones you get in Panthip).

Best regards.....

Thanh

Cheers for the warning, I went ahead and got a decent brand "Logitech" 4 port hub USB 2 with power supply and it is working well (so far), got it from the IT world mall at fortune.
