Phi Phi Nightlife Advice Needed

Recommended Posts

Posted

My buddy and I are trying to juggle a few nights in Phuket and Ko Phi Phi. We're both Canadian guys in our upper 20s, looking for advice on the best nightlife spots for meeting (white) female tourists and/or backpackers. Please save your comments on how we shouldn't be going to Thailand if we're looking for white girls.

Any sincere advise on parts of the islands to base ourselves, areas to go out in and even specific bars/clubs would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

James

A serious answer now.

Everything in Phi Phi dies at about midnight apart from (i think its the correct name) Apache Bar on the beach.

Just look for hair beads, scarlet skinned farangs sitting on cushions and fire shows.

If not then forget it and spend your holiday in Kaoh San Rd, you can pretend you are anywhere then along with the other airheads living on a shared Chang and a 10 baht dish of noodles a day, join the other space cadets walking barefoot along the street with no tshirt and a pair of fishermans trousers ( just like the locals 555 )

Sit on the side walk and get dread locks put into your thinning hair whilst everyone who has to be there rather than chooses to be there sniggers under their breath.

Then you can go back to work in your Ford plant when your 2 weeks are up and tell everyone what an enlightening experience it was being at one with the natives.

<deleted> if you want to F%^k fat white chicks stay at home.

1stvisit...have been to PhiPhi june this year. imho, PhiPhi might have a number of farang tourist enjoying their party time (until - as stated - 12, max 1 a.m.) BUT since you go Phuket as well, I recommend: STAY THERE. You surely safe a lot of money (at least, compared to accomodation rates on PhiPhi) and still meet faaaaar more western chicks on Phuket, too...

Skip Phuket and phi-phi. Go to Koh Samet. run around naked. Get a sunburn on your willie, and ask one of the luscious tanned nubile white maidens there to rub some aloe on it. :o

Or you could stay in canada drink a few moose head and cornhole your "mate" after he passes out. :o I'll bet he's got a nice white a$$.

Swedish Bar on Phi Phi is very very good. Accomodation is expensive, but thats not what you are there for is it?

Phuket is nice, but avoid Patong, unless you happen to like the sight of fat Europeans in speedo's.

ignore the others here, they don't understand what its like to be able to pull a good looking western girl.

I'm quite fond of molson golden ale and labbatt 50. But "moose head" had the right roll to it for what I wanted to express. :D

And a "Moose head" is better drinking than a "buttwiper". :o

Has PHi Phi been rebuilt yet? I heard that the tsunami flattened most of it. There is another couple of bars that used to be ok. The Irish Pub(cant remember the name) or the Reggae Bar also a few others. But dont know if they were affected or what. Maybe someone who has been to Phi Phi this year can help.

Ton Sai Bay (the famous twin bay) is still in a bad condition, but there are some places to stay. The rest of the island is fine, many places to stay. Check with hiphiphi.com or other organisation working on the island. It seems that some people try to get the price of the land going down in order to build new hotels...

Update: Phi Phi is back open for business, and needs tourists badly.

There are now more than 150 businesses open on Phi Phi, and more than 1,000 hotel rooms. There's still a lot of destruction visible on Loh Dalam Bay, but the Ton Sai side is fixed up really well - all the way down to Long Beach. There are lots of restaurants open, grocery stores, dive shops, and bars - Hippies, Apache, Reggae Bar, etc. And there's a functioning ATM. Most of the clearing and rebuilding has been done by volunteers as well as locals who've returned from Krabi. The island still needs volunteers, but it really needs tourists too to support them through low season.

Check out the new Hi Phi Phi tourism directory for an up-to-date listing of everything that's open.

Just wondering..................was the stunning 'Maya Bay' on Phi Phi Li damaged by the Tsunami, and if so, how long until its fixed? But then again there was nothing to ruin on Maya bay anyway, but just want to check for sure.

Also are the longtail boat operators still available for hire from Phi Phi Don - Phi Phi Li?

Finally are the ferry companys still operating between Phuket & Phi Phi, or is it on an overpriced speedboat? :o

Maya Bay is fine - the Miss Universe contestants were pictured on the beach there on the front page of the Bangkok Post the other day. The longtail guys are also still for hire - they lost a lot, but local organisations have bought them new ones or fixed them up. They need your business! Finally, several regular ferries operate from both Krabi and Phuket - see here for a schedule.
