Hi All

This isn't even about clamping down on Thai nationals entering the U.K. It's about the arranged marriages of people under 21 years old. Where are arranged marriages still popular? You figure it out, but for the purposes of HM Home Office statistics, it ain't Thailand.

Cheers

Hi Hanuman1 - it appears it does affect thai nationals. It affects any individual applying a spouse visa to enter the UK on the grounds of marrying or being married to a UK national.

If they are under 21 it won't happen...If they are over 21 then the sponsor is required to register with the home office first.

I think Han is alluding to the blanket ban, Thai Nationals are not on the most 'at risk' radar for forced marriages, but are swept up in the all encompassing rules.

The actual ruling and paper is rather long and tiresome and I haven't read it completely yet, but it does appear all encompassing.
