Monkeys In The North

Featured Replies

We walked into the village last night to watch the Loy Kratong parade and I noticed one of the kids had a pet baby monkey.

I suppose this area used to full of monkeys at one time but I've never seen one in the wild.

Are there still any around in their natural state?

Saw a bunch of the near the new clock tower - - - NOT!

Go to the monkey cave on the left of the highway near Mae Sai. The place is really called Wat Tham Pla (Fish cave temple?). Popular tourist place. Just watch out for those naughty fornicating monkeys demanding that you give them handouts. These are wild monkeys living on the cliff. There must be hundreds of them.

We have got a lot of Northern Monkeys in England...
