A friend of mine in Chiang Mai tried today to get a 30 day extension after the 1st entry was used and they told him it is not allowed. They said he had to do a border run and re-enter. Is that true? jonwilly Posted August 23, 2003 Share Posted August 23, 2003 CM immigration are said to be in a terrible fuss with the arrival of the new regulations. A long term resident was last friday told to go away until after the new regulations where in force. Normally they are most helpful and I understand that a 30 day visa exstention, should normally be granted on a multi entry tourist visa, BKK did it for me on one occasion. john Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But be aware, the granting of any extension is at the discretion of the officer. 30 days is the best you can usually hope for, but it can be a little as 7 days, or no days.
