Pattaya Bay to undergo Bt700 million redevelopment

CHONBURI: -- The municipal authority in Thailand's popular eastern tourist resort of Pattaya is to embark on a Bt700 million redevelopment programme for Pattaya Bay.

Mr. Wattana Chantanaranon, deputy Pattaya mayor, said today that the proposed redevelopment would help ease traffic congestion along Pattaya 1 Road, while creating new tourist destinations.

Today saw the final public consultation on the project, which has received widespread local backing.

The project, likely to cost the region of Bt684 million, will include the development of public parks, roads, pavements, and electricity and water systems.
