Hello all. Does anyone know of a good (cheap) hotel near to the Thai Embassy in KL?

the hotels are pricey near the consulate. Your better bet is in the touristy Bukit Bintang or Petaling Jaya chinatown area. KL has great monorail and subway system so no problem to ride back to Ampang Park subway stop and then walk about 1.5 km east along Jalan Ampang road to the consulate.

KL Sentral is another good area for affordable hotels and proximity to shopping etc. KL Sentral is where the Air Asia bus will drop you off when you come from the Airport. Best deal from airport to town also.

Lots more to do in these areas when your not at the consulate which will only be a short time anyway. All the interesting things to do are near Bukit Bintang, KLCC, and KL Sentral. Just get to know the transit rail system in KL and it makes life so easy and affordable.

green hut always has vacancy but IMO its a major dump and noisy. There are maybe 8 other guest houses within 200 meters of GH which are much better.

Do a search of guesthouse or "hostel kuala lumpur bukit bintang" in google and you will see lots of choices. The road GH is located is 'Tingkat tong shin'. This is where some of the best cheap deals are. Lots of other midrange choices like chinese hotels nearby or at petaling jaya(chinatown walking street) or indian owned hotels near KL Sentral. There always seem to be vacancy in clean affordable hotels near KL Sentral.
