Info For Travellers Stranded In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

For those who are stranded or have friends who are stranded in CM:

I called the TAT in Chiang Mai today. They said stranded passengers can stay at The Empress 053 270 240 for free. Please contact the hotel directly. Take with you your passport and air ticket to an international destination.

The 2000 baht is actually to help with accommodation and meals at designated hotels and can't be claimed as such.

Thanks for the info.....unfortunatley I could have helped a British couple had I known this earlier.

I was picking up a new passport at the British Consul a couple of hours ago and met a couple who were stranded and did not know what to do for the best. Stay in CM or head back to BK. I told them that I knew for sure that they could get accomodation free in BK , I did not know you can get it here.

Shame
