Explosive Device discovered in front of Shop. Message addressed to PAD also found.

On Sunday Night, Police Colonel Somnook, the Chief of Banglamung Police was one of many officers to respond to a call from residents living in Soi Kow Noi 5 who had discovered, what appeared to be, an explosive device accompanied by a threatening letter. The device was eventually made safe by a Royal Thai Navy Bomb Disposal Unit. It was confirmed that the device was real and had the capacity to cause injury to those within a 50 meter radius of it. The note, written in Thai Language, was addressed to the Peoples Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and claimed that the Thai People are watching them closely and will take action if their protests continue. The device was discovered in front of a shop owned by Khun Wandee aged 39 who claimed to have no ties to either the PAD or pro-government supporters. Police suspect the device was placed at the location because there were many PAD supporters living in the surrounding area. The Police Chief confirmed that security would be stepped up and Police are on high alert to ensure that no escalation of Political Demonstrations takes place in the Pattaya area.
