misterman21
So the PPP is not disolved? It is dissolved. Brand name change time is all that happened. How about TPP (Thaksin Puppet Party) Some years ago I was working with a big multinational shipping operator and I asked the logistics manager why he didn't use Thai crews as opposed to Indians, philipinos, Poles etc. He said that they had used them on one occasion, on one ship, but would never use them again as they could not operate a normal chain of command as no one would make a decision. gregb
So basically, we just got an intermission for the holiday. Next week, all the MP's from the defunct PPP jump to Puea Thai, which will then have a mathematically uncontested majority in the House. They will without a doubt elect a new Thaksin nominee to take over Somchai's completely inept leadership, and we get to deal with food and fuel shortages while the seaports are seized by the PAD this time. Oh boy...looks like it's going to be a real fun month. Better stock up at the grocery stores while you still have time. Does anyone honestly believe the remaining PPP MP's are going to have the slightest concern for those of us who live here? Maybe try to elect someone who is acceptable to all parties? Anyone think this might happen? Anyone? Didn't think so. This situation is nothing if not educational.
xminator
So its finally starting to dawn that PPP is still in power, but this time without a court verdict around the corner and still with majority in the parliament? And the really fun part is that the two other dissolved parties will join forces with PPP in the new one. So they will most likely have the majority alone. If not, everything is changed, as the coalition partner would loose a huge amount of MPs.

Jai Dee
Special Cabinet Meeting Convened to Endorse Interim PM Chaovarat A special Cabinet meeting was convened this morning to officiall endorse Chaovarat Chanweerakul as the caretaker premier until Parliament is convened to nominate a new Prime Minister within 30 days after former PM Somchai Wongsawat was removed from office. Caretaker Prime Minister Chaovarat Chanweerakul has called for a special Cabinet meeting at the Office of Civil Service Commission in Nonthaburi. The Cabinet session officially approved his appointment as the new caretaker premier and discussed the planned special session of Parliament to elect the new prime minister next week. Caretaker Deputy Interior Minister Preecha Rengsomboonsuk said that the Parliament is expected to convene on December 8 and 9, as earlier scheduled. But, he denied that ousted PM Thaksin Shinawatra is involved in the nomination process. Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Sanan Kachornprasart said that the new Cabinet must be made up of individuals that are respected and accepted by the society and must not instigate any further conflict. According to Sanan, only such a Cabinet would be able to allow the country to begin to recover from the past political crisis. And, Public Health Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung, slated to be nominated as the new premier, refused to comment on the issue. At the same time, Finance Minister Suchart Thadathamrongvech said that before the new PM could be elected, the new Puea Thai Party should find its leader first. Puea Thai party has been set up to accomodate People Power party MPs once the party has been disbanded by the Constitution Court. Artisi
So when can we expect the cancellation of Thaksins Diplomatic passport and the issue of an arrest warrant thru Interpol for his speedy return to the land of smiles to face his sentence and pending court cases - probably in my next dream.
