My fiance and I love Thailand, and so we're hoping to spend our honeymoon in Koh Lanta (and maybe a few other spots). We quite like the idea of staying in a private villa and we've come across Lanta Bali (www.lantabali.com) - has anyone stayed there or know anything about it? It's part of a fairly new development on Long Beach so I can't find any reviews/references.

I've lived on lanta for 2 years, and can't say I've noticed this place before. I see from the website that its managed by lanta Diver now (the Swedish dive shop), so am guessing its available at Swedish prices (could be wrong). The website doesn't really say where on longBeach it is. it seems to be just a house.

Maybe lanta Life TV did a review on it, you could try and email them. i think they are called Krabi Life TV now. Their Out&About segment has covered most places on Lanta.

They (Julie and Robbie/Ruprecht) did do a really good review on a place on Longbeach that was ultra modern and such, and had a no kid policy, but I can't remember its name... They have about 8 or maybe 10 really secluded private bungalows on their beach side property and seemed to be one of the best options for a honeymooner in longbeach I thought. If I find its details I'll add them here.

Wherever you book, try and get them to pick you up from Krabi if you are flying in there, as the taxi situation from the airport took a turn for the worse last season and could be a bad start to a relaxing holiday.

Lanta is lovelly, no matter where you stay (more or less). I hope you have a lovely honeymoon.
